AIT五十萬美元賑災 2016-02-08
U.S. Assistance for Victims of Earthquake in Southern Taiwan
The people of the United States of America have been moved by the suffering in Taiwan caused by the earthquake on February 6. On behalf of the American people, AIT would like to convey its deepest sympathy for the victims and their families.
In support of the response to this natural disaster, AIT is pleased to present US$500,000 to the Taiwan Red Cross. This money, provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development, will be used to provide immediate assistance to households affected by the earthquake.
The United States and AIT have supported the humanitarian work of the Taiwan Red Cross during previous natural disasters. In addition, we deeply appreciate the previous assistance Taiwan has provided for victims of natural disasters around the world. We are confident the Red Cross will use our contribution in the most efficient and effective manner possible to alleviate the suffering and hardship of the victims.
為協助因應這場不幸的天災，美國在台協會將向台灣紅十字會提供五十萬美元的捐款。這筆由美國國際開發署(USAID)提供的捐款，將用於對地震災民提供立即的援助。
過去美國和美國在台協會也曽支持台灣紅十字會於天災後進行人道救援工作，而對於台灣過去為世界各地天災所進行的人道救援，我們也萬分感激。我們相信紅十字會將以最有效率和效益的方式來運用我們的捐款，以減輕災民的痛苦。2016/02/08
