HyXen (TWSE: 7404) brings Location Based Services (LBS) that enables the world of the future today. Futuristic lifestyles, commercial applications, transportation and health care services that define “intelligent living” are now made possible through our Location Intelligence (LI) capabilities that integrate location big data, cloud technologies, and mobile devices.
What was imagined before in movies — a world where people's needs are actively discovered and meets, all devices are magically connected, and messages pass across platforms — is now made possible through our patented positioning technology that seamlessly transcends tangible and intangible realms.
To achieve such a “future world,” HyXen deploys exclusive hybrid location techniques and more than two billion location data points. The company has successfully developed “intelligent–living” applications, and has won many marketing and technology awards both in Taiwan and internationally. Recently, an O2O intelligent interactive flagship store set up in cooperation with Maskingdom Gallery won the Future Commerce Award for Innovation in Business from a digital-age magazine. In addition, thanks to its ability to go beyond the constraints of terrain, indoor/outdoor spaces, and weather, HyXen’s LBS core technology has been granted several patents in Taiwan and abroad, providing the cornerstones of the company’s development.
With more than 20 years of experience with the global positioning system (GPS), wireless communications, and location services, Tom Lin, chairman of HyXen, is known as “Taiwan’s LBS Godfather.” During his 11 years at SiRF in Silicon Valley, he promoted GPS, which was previously found only in professional applications, for use in consumer markets, then went on to create and popularize the market for personal navigation devices (PND). He not only assisted SiRF to go public on the NASDAQ, but also assisted many other technology companies to scale up their development, contributing to a technological boom. After founding Taiwan-based HyXen in 2009, Tom worked on applying for patents, such as “dynamic enclosure” and “geo-fencing active push” technologies, which have since become core to HyXen’s success. In addition to patents in Taiwan, the company’s intellectual properties have also been recognized by the patent office in China and in other countries.
Tom observed that: “Every mobile device is a location. We saw the value of mobile location and active push notifications long before others did. Our patents are a strong competitive advantage — it’s only when our team and technology are protected, that the value of our capabilities can shine.”
