TBT Announcement suspend operations as of 31 August 2016.

Since its inception in January 2010, the mission of the Taiwan Brain Trust (TBT) (財團法人新台灣和平基金會) has been to give Taiwan a vision of new nation in the face of global political and economic challenges, taking the initiative to offer policy advice and recommendations to the government and civil society to that end. Now that a local political power took over the reins of government, the mission that the TBT had given itself has been realized. As such, TBT will suspend operations as of 31 August 2016. We are confident that TBT’s vision will gradually materialize under the new administration.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the public which has stood by and grown with TBT, to our consultants and members of our advisory committee, and to the prominent individuals in society and experts in various fields that have graced our meetings. Without your active involvement, input, and dedication, TBT could not have accomplished so much. We would also like to thank everyone from brain trusts and academic institutions from around the world for taking part in TBT activities, providing suggestions, and exchanging views with us.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to our partners at TBT who have given so much of themselves. Your hard work has helped breathe new life into Taiwanese society. We are confident that those who have worked with us will continue to strive to make Taiwan a better nation, no matter where the future brings them.
